Marketed by Lockheed Martin as “today’s best overall fighter”, the first F-22 Raptors were delivered in January 2003. F-22s are equipped with highly advanced, dual afterburning Pratt and Whitney F119-PW-100 turbofan engines. Maximum speed is estimated at Mach 1.82 in “super-cruise” mode. All Raptors have 3 internal weapons bays within the aircraft’s fuselage. The final, 187th operational F-22 Raptor was unveiled at Dobbins Air Reserve Base on December 13, 2011.
